The Rhea Cowl
Welcome to The Weaving Witch
I love a versatile piece, don’t you? I love designs that are functional. Why can’t we have it all? The size and shape make it perfect to wear as an ear warmer, cowl, or even as a messy bun beanie! This design is completely customizable, however, there are clear guidelines to make the design as functional as the photo below. The customizable size makes it great for kids, teens or adults!

Other Notes
· The pattern is an alternate ripple-like pattern
· It’s done as one big rectangle and then folded in half and stitched together
· Turning Ch sometimes counts as a st and sometimes doesn’t. It will be indicated in the pattern as you go.
The Pattern
Ch 34
Row 1: Ch 3 (does not count as a st), Dc2tog in 4th and 5th Ch from the hook, (Dc2Tog) 2 times, (Ch 1, Puff in next st) 5 times, Ch 1, (Dc2Tog) 6 times, (Ch 1, Puff in next st) 5 times, Ch 1, (Dc2Tog) 3 times, turn
Row 2: Ch 1, (does not count as a st), Sc in each st across and each Ch 1 Sp across, turn
Row 3: Ch 2, Dc in next Sc (counts as a Dc2Tog), (Dc2Tog) 2 times, (Ch 1, Puff in next st) 5 times, Ch 1, (Dc2Tog) 6 times, (Ch 1, Puff in next st) 5 times, Ch 1, (Dc2Tog) 3 times, turn
Rep Rows 2 and 3 until you get your desired length, finish with a Row 2. For mine, I made it a total of about 19 inches. This allowed the cowl to fit over my head perfectly and be a comfortable ear warmer or messy bun beanie as well. I recommend measuring your head to allow a perfect fit for you! Or, feel free to get creative and make it an ultra-long infinity scarf!
Putting it together
Your waves should line up nicely when folded together and you can Sc into your Row 1 and Last Row sts along these edges to connect them together.
This pattern is reversible, but you’ll want to choose your favourite side (mine was the Sc side) and Sc on your less favourite side to hide the seam. Now fasten off and you’re done!!!
